The tricky process of data recovery

If you do not have any backup for your personal or official information, you are keeping your vital information at stake. You cannot be totally dependent on your data recovery software if this information is important to you and you cannot afford its loss.

Professional RAID data recovery services can be trusted for retrieving data from the drive if an unexpected data loss takes place. Here is a brief description of the recovery process –

When you take the device to a retrieval expert, the first thing he will check is whether all the drives are functioning normally. If confirmed, this will mean that the data can be fully recovered without any alteration. On the other hand, if any of the drives is damaged, some sort of reconstruction may be required before moving further. This process is needed to be carried out under extremely controlled conditions at a suitable temperature and humidity level as a small moisture particle or a dust atom can cause further harm to the data.

The next step is to create a replica of each of the drives. Each sector of this replica will be the same as the respective sectors of the original drive. This will help recovering the bad sectors of the original drive. During this process, the damaged drive has to be kept under a write- proof mode so that the original information does not get altered at all.

As soon as the cloning process is over, the RAID can be discarded. The next step is called de-striping during which all the data from the various sources is integrated for rebuilding the complete information. The data can only be rebuilt if the damage occurred is not intensive.

This process is not as simple as it sounds and can take months of hard work to recover the data. A better way to safeguard your vital information is to keep a copy of it or store it at multiple places as there are numerous data storage options available these days.
